With LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, the sequel to the WiiWare’s successful launch title LostWinds, from UK-based Frontier Developments almost upon us, we figured we’d find out what’s changed in Toku’s second outing, what’s remained the same and what plans the company has for the franchise in the future. Satisfying our curiosity is none other than industry veteran and founder of Frontier, David Braben.

ACE Team’s melee brawler Zeno Clash is headed to Xbox Live Arcade, newly found publisher Atlus has announced today. The “vastly enhanced” Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition will offer new modes, new features, cooperative tower challenges along with “a series of improvements based on fan feedback.”
The game is expected to hit XBLA in March of 2010. Atlus and ACE Team will be revealing more content as the release approaches, including “an as-of-yet-unannounced other new mode exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.”
If you know the game is going to be rated M for Mature, you might as well pump the sex in, right? Just like the minigame from God of War and the very easy side of Bayonetta. Turns out that Assassin’s Creed II will have some sex along with the piles of violence. ”Ezio is a womaniser,” responded game director Benoit Lambert to a question from a VG247 reader, ”There’s a bit of sex. I can’t say more.”
But knowing those guys at Ubisoft, their ..read the full article
“F*ck me” this trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 got me excited for the game’s multiplayer mode. Not that it didn’t look great before but somehow the odd expletive here and there in the heat of combat just make this “sh*t” look that much better. EA and DICE are ‘dropping this motherf*cker’ early March next year.
Sometimes a game developer will couch their announcements in order to see how well their product will sell. However, with possibly every gamer in the known universe salivating over November 10, Infinity Ward does not have this problem in the slightest with Modern Warfare 2. In fact, they are already planning future map packs and are announcing them on cans of energy drink(!).
Teaming up with the Monster Energy drink, Activision is bringing us Monster Assault Energy with theme giveaways, game ..read the full article
As the center of power, biggest city and capitol of Ferelden, it’s safe to say players will be spending quite a bit of time in Denerim, seen in the video above, witnessing rile up speeches, catching pick pockets, the odd stabber, and taking in the lovely architecture. BioWare’s been revealing the different world locations of Dragon Age: Origins for a while now, check the game’s official site to catch up on ‘em all.
The next installment in the Ben & Dan series of classic point-and-click games will arrive — as so many of them do, these days — episodically.
Earlier this month, the indie designer duo announced that Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican will be released episodically, with each game lasting about an hour.
Dan Marshall says the price, release schedule, and even number of episodes is still up in the air. “As a small indie, I can’t commit to six episodes if it’s not ..read the full article
BioWare is introducing Denerim today, the capital city of Ferelden and a place that’s “a key part to success in your mission to save the world against The Blight” in Dragon Age: Origins. There’s a video coming up shortly which will give a little more background on the place.
Activision is well-known/notorious for pumping out the sequels. Just look at the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty franchises. It might as well change the company name to Now That’s What I Call Games, Inc. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone to hear that the publisher is already looking towards a sequel for their upcoming rhythm game DJ Hero. According to GamesIndustry.biz, Activision-owned developer FreeStyleGames has already partnered up with an unidentified UK-based indie developer, presumably to work on the next ..read the full article
Despite some European retailers boycotting the PSP Go - thanks to its download-only games catalogue - Sony have dismissed concerns about the machine, saying the response could have been worse.
“We were very aware of concerns when we went into it and I actually expected a lot more negative responses than we actually got,” Sony’s UK product manager Claire Blackhouse told GI.biz. “[The retailers] were really quite fine with it.”
Furthermore, Blackhouse points to the Go creating a swell in sales for ..read the full article
With the announcement of new DSi colors, lots of DSi owners have been curious to find out if they can transfer their DSiWare purchases to a new DSi. Unfortunately, DSi owners are outta luck. According to Nintendo of Australia, any purchases made cannot be transferred to a new console. Apparently, all content downloaded is locked to that particular console.
However, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you happen to break your DSi and then get a new one, ..read the full article
TOKYO — Indie developer The Behemoth had a booth on the Tokyo Game Show floor, a small installation in the corner that was easy to miss. I certainly didn’t take notice of it during the first couple days of the show, or else I would have made it a point to visit sooner. The company brought two games to share with the public: a PlayStation Network demo of their Xbox Live Arcade hit Castle Crashers, and its forthcoming third game, ..read the full article
The new “Crash Course” campaign for Left 4 Dead, released Tuesday for Xbox 360 and PC, offers a glimpse into the direction Valve will be taking its co-operative zombie killing shooter come November.
“Crash Course” finds the survivors stranded in the middle of a small Northeastern town overrun with the infected. The environments feel much more open and organic than the four original Left 4 Dead campaigns. Where the early campaigns kept to corridors, sewer tunnels and tightly hemmed passageways, the ..read the full article

When asked about a possible re-make of the original Metal Gear game in an interview with Kotaku last week, Kojima responded saying that he was too busy, but it may “be good if a foreign production team even did it.”
“It doesn’t have to be me who makes it,” he said, noting he may not enough years in his life to get to it. “I made it a long time ago. It could be somebody young that maybe has more abilities ..read the full article
