Capcom announced E.X. Troopers, a cartoon-styled spin-off of its Lost Planet third-person shooting franchise for PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS, this week.

E.X. Troopers will occupy the same universe as the Lost Planet games, but it will drop the hard sci-fi look in favor of the comic book approach. Characters look hand-drawn rather than sculpted from polygons, and the action seen in the game’s first trailer is punctuated ..read the full article

Borderlands 2 Special Editions

2K Games has announced two special editions of Borderlands 2. The “Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Collector’s Edition” consists of Borderlands 2 video game, a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead, art book, stickers, a digital comic and several unspecified DLC. Fewer than 8 percent of Japanese consumers want to buy a PlayStation Vita or a Wii U, according to a recent survey conducted by online firm Goo Research. This is the third such survey in a row to report a decline in interest.

Diablo III Starter Edition

The Diablo III Starter Edition enables you to try Blizzard’s Diablo 3 without having to buy it. The starter edition is currently available for downloadable from Battle.net. In the Diablo III Starter Edition, you are able to play Act 1 up to the Skeleton King, up to a character level of 13 and Matchmaking with other Starter Edition players. First it was BioShock Infinite. Now Square Enix’s reboot of Tomb Raider has been delayed from the fall of 2012 into the first quarter of 2013.

Unlike Infinite, however, Lara Croft’s new adventure will still be shown at this year’s E3 Expo in June.

The arcade classic Xevious is now playable online at no cost, thanks to a Japanese campaign for Sprite.

As part of a retro-themed campaign for the citrusy soft drink, which features Sprite’s classic logo and other nostalgic imagery, you can now play a slightly tweaked version of the 1982 aerial shooter called Sprite x Xevious.
